Urgent Action Required to Keep Your Jet Rating Current


EDGEWATER, MD - Nov 5, 2009 - The recently issued FAR 61.58 Notice of Proposed Rule Making (NPRM), designed to improve Very Light Jet (VLJ) pilot safety, will severely impact Experimental Exhibition Jet (EEJ) operation:

  • FAR 61.58 NPRM ignores and aggravates the acute EAE shortage.
  • FAR 61.58 NPRM safety goals are unrelated to EEJ operation.
  • FAR 61.58 NPRM cost/benefit analysis was based on VLJs, not EEJs.
  • FAR 61.58 NPRM lumps EEJ pilots with VFR-only VLJ operators.
  • FAR 61.58 NPRM fails to consider existing Ops Letter limits.
  • FAR 61.58 NPRM proposes irrelevant EEJ pilot training.
  • ... and on and on ...

The Classic Jet Aircraft Association (CJAA) is asking all EEJ owners and operators to immediately take action to halt this ill-advised NPRM:
